Day 2..

Nov 15th.

Woke up at 6 to bathe.. Brrr.. Cold Cold.. haha. Then went for breakfast and then bus came at 8 and off we go to... tanah merah somewhere.. =x.. for..

DRAGONBOAT! WOOHOOO~!

I was feeling a mixture feeling of being scared and excited at the same time. Scared cos i can't swim! Excited cause i know i`ll have lotsa fun! (With the team, it`ll always be fun, no matter where we are & what we're doing. I love my team till the max!)

So applied lots and lots and lots of sunblock! Asked yoyo if she wants sunblock she replied me "i dont need suntan or sunblock, i`ll be natural" and HAHAHHA. she got a sunburnt! (like durh, 4-5hrs in the sea, under the scorching hot sun) Lobby yoyo! =x. Her arms, thighs and face are all burnt =x. haha. But i love that girl la (yoyo) for she's my Japan buddy!

So after all the briefing and safety measures.. went to put on our PFD. this lifejacket thingy.. And went to the sea to practice a capsize drill.. We'll walk in the sea whilst holding REALLY TIGHTLY to both the person on our right and left.. And unfortunately.. or maybe fortunately for me.. both my left and right sides are males.. So they really held on tight to me.. I was holding on to their hands as if my life really depends on it!! (Well if we let go, i`ll drown.. not only me, but the whole team) So i was really holding on really tightly. haha.

After the drill.. went back and started dragon boating our way to east coast park!!

My buddy buddy is my girlfriend, joycey!! We were the last team to leave. haha. And i was feeling rather drowsy and blur cos i drank sea water during the capsize drill.. so my reaction to people's words was really slow. =x. but the team was still patient with me.. (i love them, really!) So off we go! Dream 1 dream 2 dream 3! haha. i kept banging into the person infront of me. (kelsey) and the person behind me (fiona) and we really took a long time to reach east coast park. but we came in second! from last team till second.. GAO LAT! power man i tell you. Plus our team has the most FEMALES and yet we can beat the other males dominated team.. So this shows that, we girls, aren't any less weaker (physically) as compared to guys ok! When we want to do it, we can even do it better than you guys! muahahaha.

Reached east coast and then we went to play in the sea.. since we can float freely! was damn fun.. Both joyce and myself kept playing and playing! even though we're already so drained, We still played! haha. Makes me wonder where we get all that energy from, really!

Then gathered to practice our cheer. with all the clappings and shouting and jumping, we became even more lethargic.. Then its time to head back to tanah merah! (where we first started).

This time, on the way back, we had to combine with team 6.. so we just kept going on and on.. And surprisingly, we manage to co-ordinate with the other team really well! Even though team 6 has only 10people.. We still managed to leverage on their strength.. (by doing the long stroke) And we came in first! (LIKE DUH!) From last till first.. how cool can things get man?

The funniest thing is when we reached and jay told us that we've reached.. we were like.. "SOO FAST?!"

The main reason as to why we can be the first is cos, during the break (at east coast), we really started to strategize, and fiona and kelsey and myself started to co ordinate better.. we didn't bang into each other anymore.. and thats why we made it back first..

So what i've learnt from dragon boat is that..

CO-ORDINATION AND COMMUNICATION IS REALLY IMPORTANT. And of course patience.. Can you imagine we're under the damn hot sun for like hrs? The sun is already like getting into us.. and yet we didn't scream at each other.. instead, we still encourage each other and such.. So really.. patience is needed!

My favorite sentence during dragonboat is the..

"THOSE ON THE LEFT, MOVE TO YOUR LEFT, THOSE ON THE RIGHT, MOVE TO YOUR RIGHT". hahaha. Its the only way to not capsize.. cos we have to balance the boat whilst on the sea.. So we kept shouting that sentence.. woohoo.. and that sentence alone brings back the good ol' memories we have during dragonboat.

So the moment we reached tanah merah.. guess what welcomed us back?

A WHOLE.. AND I REALLY MEANT WHOLE ARMY OF SEA COCKROACHES. EWWWWWWWWW. WTFZXZXZXZXZXZXZXZXZXZX. EWWWWWWWW. Jay was like.. Cheryl, your best friend. @##@@#%@#%@%@

I was praying for myself to be able to get out of the boat asap cos the sea cockroaches really was soooo NEAR. EWWWW. So i really jumped off the boat. haha!

Went to rinse my whole body and have a change of clothes and finally its time for LUNCH. then we had a de brief and then headed back to our camp!

Reached camp and had a gooooood shower.. woohooo..

Then settled in and start to practice our cheer for our campfire later on that night..

We had the hey micki cheer, but of course, changed our lyrics..

And we had a really sentimental song which is dedicated to our uplines/mentors.. Which is of course my blog song, "always be my baby".

And of course, i gave my 100% for that cheer! (cos katrina stayed up till 4am the previous night just to think of the cheer) and when i said 100%, i really gave my 100%! Even though *AHEM* was there.. i just screamed and screamed like some crazy person. danced and danced like some crazy person.. I was just being the real me. haha! So thats my 100%!

Had dinner.. then campfire! Our team was the last to reach (cos we were in the room to do a final practice).. and we started with kallang wave.. when it was our turn to jump.. i couldn't jump.. INNER THIGHS MUSCLE ACHE MAN I TELLYOU. so it was damn funny! I couldn't jump! LOLLLL.

Then other teams performed and such.. then had this dancing king and dancing queen game.. it was hilarious seeing both danny and ben dance so sexily. LOLLLLLL. Selin won the dancing queen game though.. I was there headbanging to the rock music.. Was damn fun! woohooo~!

Then it was our team's turn to perform.. so we had a little error here and there.. but i still danced to hey micki even though *ahem* was there. =X! and we sang always be my baby to our dearest uplines too! Our team is the only sentimental one.. the others were all comedies.. Well, thats what you`ll expect coming from a female dominating team..

now, just by hearing this song, i`ll start to think back of our campfire.. I'm getting emo, now. Whilst typing this uber long entry. =[.

Then after campfire, we had a mass de brief.. At the canteen.. Martin was saying that he really liked the song even though THE LYRICS WAS DISTORTED.. So katrina selin and I got pissed and we were like.. COME LETS DO IT AGAIN. I even stood on the bench and start singing.. haha. And *AHEM* was there too! BUT WHO CARES! hahaha. And even after dragon boat and campfire.. we still had the energy to shout our cheer and SCREAM! The other teams already have no more strength left to scream and yet we still can SCREAM TILL THE MAX YO!

I really screamed like crazy and had lotsa fun! haha.

Well, Even tommy told us that, the other team's facilitator said that our team.. (team 5) is the most bonded team! (LIKE DURHHHH!) Cause the other teams were already so drained, we were still alive and kicking YO! This really shows how bonded we are.. and i truly love each and every one in team 5!!

Its amazing how, we can be from total strangers, and in just 3 days.. it feels like we've known each other for years.. Its like what i told the rest.. the difference from before tbc and after tbc is that.. before tbc, when seeing each other, we'll just hello.. hi.. but now, we'll YO! and give a hug and such. So the difference is already there! haha.

I wanna go back to TBC days again..

AND OH! Day 2 ended with a ghost story session with team 2! haha. Linda's so cute with her ghost story.. and i really love her name too!

so.. after all the screaming and dragon boating, right after 1 ghost story session.. i went back and crashed.. too tired.. =x..

TBC overall was really fun!

Either way....... I'll just roughly summarize my 3 days experience!

Day 1..

Nov 14th..

Slept at 10pm on nov 13 only to wake up at 1+am on nov 14th and then couldn't sleep anymore... was too eggcited! haha.

So packed my bag.. my bag was seriously sooooo bigggg! And i brought like everything thats being mentioned on the "to bring list" except for my shampoo and soap. .___." Anyways.. left house at like 6am cos we're supposed to meet at katrina's place at 6.45... so whilst walking to her place.. many uncles and aunties were staring at me.. haha. they probably think that i'm running away from home.. carrying a bag so big. LOL. (it's the type of bag which army guys carry)

So met Kat and all~ Then tommy drove us all the way to Kranji mrt.. reached there then yada yada yada till 8am and went to our camp site!

I'm in team 5.. and our leader is none other than my beloved bibiana! (katrina)

We're like the only FEMALE dominated team? hahaha! The other 5 teams have like only 1 female.. Except for team 4 which have afew females.. But our team is the ONLY team which has 10females and 6 males. LOL. Female dominating team! GAO LAT!!!!

So started out with some simple activities like the handshake game.. got to know afew more faces.. (i've forgotten their names already though..) HAHAHAHA! =x. then we had this chicken game and dog and bone.. then went to our dorm to rest! wooohoo!

We're like living in a 5 star camp dorm you know!

Wonder why?

Basically.. our dorm has beds and pillow plus its air conditioned!! HOW COOL IS THAT?!

I seriously thought that we're gonna pitch up a damn tent and sleep on the damn grass or something.. haha! The toilet was seriously super clean too! Nice environment to bathe... It so doesn't feel like a typical camp life... We were like living in a hostel!

So 12pm.. had lunch and started our activities.. we had this game.. (I forgot the name.. it was something shuffle) where afew of us will have to stand on a log (the log is like 50-60cm off the ground).. and then we'll have to arrange ourselves according to our birth dates. So joyce and i had to switch positions.. and it was so squeezy we had to really rely on each other so that we can move.. so joyce and myself keep holdin on to each other to move.. Katrina was holding on to us so that we wont fall.. (i was so afraid that i`ll fall) and the rest of our team were also there to support us to prevent us from falling.. then with trust, we did it! YAY! but poor joyce had to go from the left to the right.. haha.. I just had to switch once! Lucky me! :D:D:D

So what i've learnt from this game is that.. we have to learn to trust our team mate.. and of course, communication is really important too.. without communication and trust, i don't think i'll be able to successfully switch positions with joyce! And that i've also learnt that our team mates will always be on our lookout for us.. and they're very encouraging too!

I love team 5! 3 cheers and 3 cheers and 3 cheers for dream team! hip hip hurray!!! hip hip hurray!!! hip hip hurraaayyyyy~!~!~! (i'm still in the camp mood, haha)

2nd game was something like a spider web.. we had to connect to each other and pass through this series of lines together.. its something like laser beam.. and we cant touch it! So we decided to connect with each other by using our shoe laces! haha.. it was damn fun la.. Danny went in for the trial and error first.. (he was the leader for that game) and then when danny found the route out.. we started to crawl.. one after another.. so when it was my turn.. i had to keep my head really really low until i nearly kissed the ground please.. and the fact that it was sooo muddy didn't help at all.. and the ropes had BIG RED ANTS ON IT.. so i was really scared and all.. so whenever i raised my back a little.. the people behind will shout.. "CHERYL HEAD DOWN DOWN DOWN" then i'll reply "ALREADY DOWN UNTIL GONNA KISS THE GROUND" LOL! I was really using my whole body to move through the whole series of "spider webs" and when i'm finally out.. my whole shirt was full of mud.. i had cuts on both of my elbows.. but it was worth it.. cos i had lotsa fun!

So what i've learnt from this game? hmmm.. I would say that.. When danny did the trial and error.. its like him setting a pathway for us.. and he succeeded! So its already been proven that the path we're following CAN WORK. Its just a matter of endurance and a few sacrifices (girls will have to kiss the ground and drag their bodies up and have to endure the "mud bathe"). So if i were to apply it back to real life.. I'd say that, since the system has already shown that it works.. i should just follow.. there'll definitely be some stuffs which i've got to sacrifice.. but when i finally succeed, those sacrifices are really insignificant.. its the end result which really matters the most! So 3 cheers and 3 cheers and 3 cheers for danny!! (:

Okay.. 3rd game.. this game is basically about communication and co-ordination and also trust!

We had to step on this thing which resembles a ski.. and on a ski, there'll be 4-5 of us on it.. we had to pull a rope and lift it up at the same time in order to move forward. So alan was the leader for this game and we really had to right up. left up. right up. left up. at the SAME TIME. Cos if any of us were to be slow.. we cant move forward at all! So we had to picked up our team color ball.. mine was yellow and our ball was being raped by other team! LOL. they actually stole our ball and step on our ball T___T but yeah! We finished second! (:

The last team to come in was Katrina's team.. they had finished collecting their colored balls and we were shouting to them to pick up the red one.. as its the "restart ball" you see.. so once you finish collecting your team's colored balls.. you shld just step on the red one then you`ll finish the game.. but katrina's team was stubborn! we were there telling them to STEP on the red one so they dont have to waste their time to get back.. but they still remained stubborn and still.. right up. left up. their way back.

But yeah, what i've learnt from this game.. Personally i feel that its my own personal development and also trust.. we have to trust our team.. Okay, about the personal development part, its where Katrina's team was being so stubborn and there i was shouting.. KATRINA TRUST ME. JUST PICK UP THE DAMN RED BALL 3$@#^@$^#$^#$^#. I was soooo seriously pissed and disappointed with her when she didn't do as I say. Its like as if she didn't trust me at all!!! In a moment of heat, i was like "FOR FUCK SAKE, I'VE BEEN YOUR FRIEND FOR 9YEARS AND YOU DONT EVEN TRUST ME AT ALL?!?!?!?!?!" (of course i didn't say it out loud.. i kept it inside.) haha. But after that.. i managed to calm myself down, and start to think of "what if i was in katrina's shoes" in her situation and in that circumstances.. and if katrina was shouting to me.. will i do the same as what katrina did to me? (not listening to what friend is telling you) After much thinking, i realized that i'll do the same.. cos of the situation that i'm in.. so the part where i've changed was that.. i've learnt to be more generous and not to be as impulsive as before! I've started to place myself in the other party's shoes and think of "what went wrong". :) And i'm proud of myself for doing so! So yeah, personal development for me! :DDDDDD And also, katrina's team then kept apologizing for not trusting us.. So I believed that they also learnt a lesson.. and thats to trust our team! (:

4th game was supposed to be this surf board game.. we didn't manage to play it cos whilst queueing (there was a team before us waiting..) it started to rain so.. we played this entangled game whereby we'll hold hands with the person opposite us and we'll all be tangled up.. then we'll have to think of ways to untangle ourselves.. it was fun and tiring at the same time.. cos you'll really have to co operate and THINK! and of course communication too!

What i've learnt from this game is that.. we have to co operate and be really patient.. and work with each other!

After that, really physically drained man. Headed back to our dorm and HAD A GREAT TIME SHOWERING.. WOOHOOOO..

Then dinner came and we had a auditorium meeting.. So we had to walk in the darkness till the auditorium.. haha no la, of course got use torchlight la.. (DUH). And my torchlight really is damn special.. Other's torchlight only has torchlight.. but mine has radio, torchlight and siren.. (if you have a mom like mine, you`ll know why) HAHAHAHA. thats what i told everybody.. but its super useful la.. more functions (: I seriously love my mom please! (reasons i`ll type it at the end of this superbbbbb long post.. Probably my longest post ever!)

So reached auditorium.. had this XY game.. This game had the biggest impact on me, i swear!

It was super impactful.. wna know why? I was so super sleepy in the beginning.. till i got so HOT till i became so wide awake and started screaming and shouting and even wanted to STRANGLE someone. haha. I won't elaborate much on what is this game is about.. But what i've learnt is that.. TO BECOME A SUCCESSFUL LEADER.. you really got to be really really really patient and generous.. cos 95% of the population are stubborn.. So really, kudos to felicia. For being so patient with me.. bearing with all my nonsense.. And also, i've learnt to TRUST. TRUST IS REALLY IMPORTANT. cos once its being broken, its really hard to gain it back again.. really really really hard. Though it was just a game, when the other team "betrayed" us.. I really felt the "URGGGGGG" feeling you know. Till i became so WIDE AWAKE. and became so chong dong.. MY eyes really went from ~___~ till O___O. WIDE AWAKE I SWEAR! Its a really impactful game filled with emotions.. till the max i swear! And i couldn't trust them again.. even when they said sorry, and i said its ok. I still feel the URGGG feeling. hahaha. But im fine already la! We even had a ghost story session the next night! :)

So this is what happened on day 1! :) No pictures.. just words.. Regretted not bringing my camera along! Really many many pictures to share! Cos there was a videoman and a cameraman.. I really wanna get those pictures!! As the saying goes, pictures shows what words fail to describe.

Okay, regarding my mommy's thing. haha. The moment i told her i was going to camp and that the camp site has lotsa fat mosquitoes. she immediately gave me lots of insect patch and a torchlight with so many fuctions.. Even a portable charger for my ipod touch.. (i can't live without music) & I've grown addicted to Ruki's voice somehow.. And lotsa plasters.. And thats why my bag is so big.. Well, what can i say? When you have a mommy whose a nurse, its not a surprise to have such things happening to you. haha.
